Update of Local Staff Training (25 April 2022)

CICO’s Guideline on Infection Control Precautions for Training Activities*
(Reviewed and updated by CICO on 25 Apr 2022 for the training activities that were approved in CCC)

 

1.       Staff including trainees and trainers, who are under quarantine order on the date of training, or who are currently required by the government to undergo COVID-19 testing, including the “Compulsory Testing for Certain Persons” under the Prevention and Control of Disease Regulation (Cap. 599J) without a negative test, SHOULD NOT attend the training (Please take note on the latest health advice as announced by CHP before attendance)
 

2.       Staff including trainees and trainers are required to follow the new phase of “Vaccine Pass” arrangement, such that with effect from 1 April 2022, all HA full-time and part-time staff should receive 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine prior to entry to their places of work (incl. attending training activities) and they must also receive 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccine before 16 May 2022, or within 150 days (i.e. 5 months) after receiving the 2nd dose
 

3.       No training activities allowed in high risk areas, e.g. isolation wards
 

4.       Basic infection control training for HCWs should be completed within last 24 months and preferably COVID-19 related staff forum attended
 

5.       Advise staff, including trainees and trainers, to have self-temperature check before training activity
 

6.       Avoid attending if there are any symptoms of fever, cough, runny nose or other respiratory symptoms, loss of taste or smell or diarrhea
 

7.      Wear well-fitted surgical mask when attending training and enhance personal hygiene, especially hand hygiene and cough etiquette
 

8.      Provide alcohol-based hand rub for hand hygiene in the venues
 

9.      No drinking or eating allowed during activity
 

10.   Apply social distancing of at least 1.5 meter apart between attendees if applicable (or the latest advice as announced by Centre for Health Protection)
 

11.   Enhanced environmental hygiene in training venues, especially (but not exclusive) frequently touched surfaces, e.g. doorknobs, light switches, countertops, keyboards, desks, remote controls, shared training materials etc.
 

12.   Ensure the training venue is well-ventilated
 

13.   Participants entering HA premises, including public hospitals are required to use the “LeaveHomeSafe” mobile application to scan the venue QR code.)
 

14.  Staff is required to have a negative Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) result before attending trainings.


Remarks: Recovered staff/trainees from COVID 19 if asymptomatic within 90 days after recovery - No daily RAT before training & Exempted from PCR tests using CNTS every seven days and adhere to latest advice on vaccination requirements
